Terms of use
These terms apply to everyone using the Studio Northstar Academy.
What this covers
The Academy is a private learning environment run by Studio Northstar. Your organisation holds a licence and has given you a seat on it. These terms apply between you and Studio Northstar from the moment you activate your account.
Price, duration and the number of seats are agreed separately between Studio Northstar and your organisation. They are not covered here.
Your account is yours alone
You sign in with your own address and a password you choose yourself. Do not pass either on. An account that circulates can no longer be tied to one person, and your progress stops meaning anything.
If you think somebody else can reach your account, write to academy@studionorthstar.nl and we will close it.
What you may do with the material
The modules, assignments and examples belong to Studio Northstar. You may use them to learn, and to apply what you learn inside your own organisation.
Reselling, publishing or sharing them outside your organisation is not allowed. If a colleague needs the material too, they get a seat of their own.
What we do not promise
This is course material, not advice. The examples assume a situation that may resemble yours but never matches it exactly. Whatever you build, test it against your own organisation's rules on security, privacy and procurement.
Part of the material is about working with AI models. They give answers that sound convincing and can still be wrong. Check what a model returns before you rely on it.
We keep the environment available as best we can. Maintenance and outages are part of that. Planned maintenance is announced in advance to your organisation's administrator.
How long your access lasts
Your access runs for as long as your organisation's licence does. If that licence ends, or your administrator removes you from it, your access stops at that moment.
We keep your progress for a year afterwards. If you come back within that time, you do not have to start over.
Liability
If something goes wrong through a fault on our side, our liability is limited to what your organisation paid for the licence in the twelve months before. We do not cover consequential loss.
This limit does not apply in cases of intent or deliberate recklessness on our part.
Changes and applicable law
We may change these terms. If something material changes in what you agreed to, we will ask you to agree again the next time you sign in.
Dutch law applies to these terms.
Who we are
The Studio Northstar Academy is a product of Studio Northstar B.V., based in The Hague, the Netherlands, and registered with the Dutch Chamber of Commerce under number 42094999.
